Join our Ladies-only Alaskan Steelhead Fly Fishing Retreat

What is the SS retreat.png
A 6 day, 5 night ladies-only fly fishing retreat here in Alaska.

Steelhead Sirens has grown into a community of women who love fishing, learning new skills, and sharing time on the water together.

The retreat is really an extension of that community. It was built to create the opportunity for a small group of (badass) women to come together in Alaska for a week of fishing, learning, adventure, and building confidence on the water.

The retreat is built around a mix of fishing, learning, and enjoying Alaska. Here’s what we’ll be doing:

  • Three days of guided Steelhead fishing (catch & release)

  • One day of ocean fishing (Halibut, Chinook & Rockfish)

  • Fly tying lessons (supplies provided)

  • 5 nights at Clam Gulch Lodge (all meals included)

  • Yoga nights, wine tasting, & lots of laughter in between

Who is the SS retreat for.png
Women who love fishing.
Women who want to learn and grow their confidence.
Women who enjoy adventure and spending time in nature.

Experience levels vary every year—some women are newer to fly fishing, while others have been at it for years.

We intentionally keep the retreat small so everyone gets plenty of time on the water and personal instruction. This year we’ll be opening just 6 spots.

At the end of the day, what matters most is curiosity, a sense of adventure, and being excited to spend a week on the water with a great group of women.

Meet Your Host: Carolyn Knapper

Hosting Steelhead Sirens, our upcoming Women's-Only Fishing Retreat

Carolyn is a Salmon Biologist by trade and has been working to complete her Masters research on sockeye in the Skeena Watershed in British Columbia, Canada. She is using genetic tools to answer questions about resident sockeye at the University of Northern BC, but works remotely from Alaska, where she started working in fisheries in 2023. Carolyn is passionate about salmon biology and conservation and brings a scientific mindset to time in the outdoors and on the river. She runs a business teaching indigenous youth biology and outdoors/hunting/fishing skills in BC and has over a decade of experience working in biology across Canada and Alaska. When she isn’t exploring far off places to answer fishy questions, you’ll find her foraging with Kai and Jax or rolling out a yoga mat. Carolyn is a certified yoga instructor, and previously owned and operated Wild Yoga, a studio and wellness space on North Vancouver Island.

In addition to running the fly shop and operations at Lakeview Outfitters, she is the host of our upcoming, women's-only retreat, for the Steelhead Sirens. Carolyn has curated a special retreat + fishing experience in one of the world’s last wild Steelhead locations. She will be leading our yoga sessions during the retreat (because long days on the water deserve a good stretch) and has lots of great fishing stories to share. Whether she’s helping you land your first steelhead, explaining the magic of glacial-fed rivers, or just sharing a laugh at the firepit, Carolyn brings brains, heart, and a whole lot of fun to the water.
