WHAT TRIP SUITS YOU?
From first time to expert angler
Lakeview Outfitters fly fishing trips are tailored to suit the skills of our guests. Our guides will teach learners to roll cast a fly rod, handle fish and begin to read the river. Experienced casters will benefit from our decades of expertise and there will be plenty of opportunity to apply newly acquired river knowledge and specific casting techniques. We also offer an extensive variety of tackle for guests to use alongside tips for selecting the right dry flies, bugs and beads.
Lakeview Outfitters have stable flat-bottomed boats to fit up to five anglers (heated if conditions require it). We provide top-quality rod and reels, a vast selection of bugs, flies, and beads, as well as waders and boots to cast from the shore. Our shop stocks all the necessary gear in order for you to practice your newly developed skills.
Catch & release or dinner time delicacy
The Kenai River boasts a number of sought after fish species for catch and release and table fair. Home to one of the largest concentrations of wild Rainbow Trout in the state, the Kenai River also provides excellent summer fly fishing for Dolly Varden, White Fish and the elusive Grayling. The 'grand slam' is catching all four species in a day!
If it's salmon you're after then timing is a little more critical as they travel up the Kenai in runs. There are several species of salmon in the Kenai River - the distinctive Sockeye (or reds), the large Chinook (or King Salmon), Pink Salmon, and Coho (or silvers), all of which make delicious eating raw, cooked, and smoked.
Wild life and wine!
Float the Kenai River in a comfortable flat-bottomed heated boat with your favorite bottle of vino. Meander through spectacular scenery, spotting wildlife in and out of the river, explore eddies and the odd rapid with an experienced guide without spilling a drop! Our scenic tours provide either delicious antipasto platters with locally caught cured salmon or freshly brewed espresso coffee with cinnamon rolls.
WHAT SETS US APART?
STEWARDSHIP / BARBLESS / SUSTAINABILITY
At Lakeview Outfitters, we are working to raise the bar in the fly fishing industry. We reward our local community for their environmental efforts, promote sustainable fish handling and catch and release practices, and acknowledge the importance of reducing our impact on the ecosystem.
We consider conservation first in all of our decisions, from carrying and using only barbless hooks to providing effective and less damaging alternatives to lead weights and anchors. Plus, our shop runs entirely on clean solar energy.
